I have 3 daughters and a wonderful boyfriend (or whatever you call them at our age!). Michael and I have been living together since 2002. Michael is the Sales Director for a company that manufactures WWII scale replica aircraft, tanks, and "action figures" (that's dolls for men!). Talk about a niche business! They are pretty famous for their product and he's kept very busy.
I have three daughters from my first marriage:
Melissa, 24 - graduated from SDSU with a degree in Politial Science in 2005. She just completed her Masters at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She will be returning to the San Diego area and beginning work as a university administrator of some kind. She is looking forward to returning "home", and being finished with school.
Candice, 23 - just graduated from San Francisco State University with a liberal arts degree. She will begin studying cosmetology at the Vidal Sassoon School in Los Angeles. Candice moved down there after graduation this month, and is living with her boyfriend, David, in Venice - a block from the boardwalk.
Rochelle, 21 - will be a senior at CSU San Marcos, and lives in La Mesa. She is studying to be an elementary school teacher. In the summer she works at River Way Ranch Camp, which she loves.
I became an interior designer - something I really enjoy. However, with three children approaching college, I needed to move to a better job market than San Diego. So I relocated to the Bay Area and got a job with Mervyn's, designing space at their corporate headquarters. After 4 years, I changed fields to the more data-driven, technical aspect of occupancy planning. I now work for Jones Lang LaSalle as an Occupancy Planner in San Francisco. My client is Union Bank, and I work on their 5 million+ square foot portfolio (which in the corporate real estate world makes them a small account!).
I LOVE living here. The City (local-ese for San Francisco) has such great energy!! It is so diverse, so crammed full of interesting stuff, so much to do. Love it, love it, love it. I take BART (light rail) into the city every day. The BART station is a 10 minute walk from my house. I get off the BART in the city and walk 5 blocks to my gym. My office is across the street. I work in the Financial District (of course, since my client is a bank!), and am surrounded by this amazing city (and tons of fabulous food! Hence the need for the gym).
So here's my house:
