Bonnie (Jensen) Perry
Wow...what a treasure to read about so many from CHS class of 1978. It's hard to believe how fast the years have gone since graduation.
Dave and I have been married for almost 26 years. A man that brings much laughter and joy to me everyday. A true blessing from God. We have lived in Alaska for almost 13 years now. If you would have told me that someday I would end up in Alaska...I would have fallen over laughing. But God has had work for us to do here and we have all been blessed and grown in the process. I am very involved in singing, worship and developing a women's discipleship/mentoring program. Dave is involved in leadership and many Ministry Boards.
Two of our blessing are our children:
Steven, 22 is finishing up a degree in Business at the University of Alaska Anchorage. He has already begun his career with New York Life (Investment Planning) and recently received a great honor as the National Intern of the Year with all of New York Life. He started with a full Naval ROTC scholarship at Point Loma College in San Diego and decided that following in his Dad's footsteps in the military was not for him. He recently stated how blessed he was to find a career that he love so early in his life. He loves the Lord and has a true servants heart. I think there may be a wedding in his near future with a very special girl.
Our Katelyn, 20 is finishing up her second year at Mid-Continent University in Kentucky. She was honored with a full ride scholarship in Basketball (who can complain about free money for college - a blessing from our God). At the beginning of her second year she decided she didn't want to return, but they convinced her to return at the second semester (they kept her name on the rooster so she could compete right away). She has been playing academic catch-up ever since. She plans on a degree in math (hopefully teaching secondary school). She has been involved in 5 mission trips to Russia and hopes to return for an extended stay in missions.
Enough about the Perrys. What a joy to hear from so many people. Thank you Mike (and all) for connecting us again. It has brought a smile to my face. I wish I could attend the reunion but I don't think I will be able to. I didn't know about it soon enough to plan for it. My heart will be with you all. Tell everyone, "Hi and God's blessings on all." - Bonnie
